I am offering for sale Cassie, an 11 year old mare, 142cm, black piebald with partial blue eye. She is currently in foal to my stallion Cillbarra Master of Poppets for 25 May 2025 (ICS Belgium Champion 2018 and Reserve Champion 2019).
I'd love her new home to give her a great life as a leisure mare. If it's for breeding, I had planned a year's rest afterwards for her well-being.
Cassie is a shy mare at first sight, she won't give you her trust overnight. When you arrive in the meadow, she won't jump into your arms, she'll keep her distance. She can be picked up without any problem, and may turn her head to the side a little, but she won't move away. Little by little, she'll get to know you and, conversely, she'll give you her trust (as she did with me). She doesn't like sudden gestures. She really isn't a complicated or problematic mare. As proof, I took her from a dealer 3 years ago to place her quietly in a new family, but she caught my heart and stayed at home. She's a very endearing mare and a pleasure to be around every day.
She respects the fences, weaning her foals always goes very well (when it's done gradually as always at home), rides a van easily and travels well.
She lives in meadows all year round with the herd. For her foaling, she is in a stall with a view of her fellow horses and this poses no problem for her. She has already been in a box to take part in an ICS competition and there too, no problem.
At home, she is on hay in winter. She coughs sometimes when the bale is too dusty. Ideally, she should be fed prefleshed, wrapped or excellent quality hay.
Cassie is not broken in. She'll make a great leisure mare, but you'll need to do some footwork beforehand to consolidate your relationship with her and give her confidence too. Despite her shyness, she is not a very emotional mare when faced with stressful situations.
4500€ full, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I would like to have a small presentation of her future new environment, her planned lifestyle and her new family who will follow her.
She will only be available around December or January depending on the weaning of her current filly.
Pictures of her foals in my albums: London (black piebald, father unknown), Nola (black piebald, father Master), Orly (bay sabino, father Master)
She is in order of vaccinations, trimming, deworming, CWBC and ICS Belgium papers.
She can be boarded at home.
We are located in Belgium between Namur and Andenne.
