Situated in the heart of the French Jura, this exceptional château is just 1 hour's drive from Geneva.

Set in a 132-hectare estate, this 13th-century building was once a real fortified castle, with its keep, towers and drawbridge across the moat that surrounded it. At the end of the 19th century, it was bought by a wealthy industrialist from Lyon, who restored it in the Renaissance style and won the title of best restoration in France.
In 2002, the château was bought by its current owner, who completed its restoration in 2007 in accordance with historical, artistic, scientific and technical criteria, thereby registering it as a French historic monument.

Go through the entrance gates, and a pathway of hundred-year-old trees will lead you to the castle grounds, a former Barony dating back to the 16th century. The authenticity of the premises has been carefully preserved over the years, making this a very comfortable residence. It boasts 4,000 m2 of living space, with 70 rooms spread over 3 floors, including 24 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms.

The royal stables are a jewel for riders, comprising 8 large boxes as well as a riding school and an outdoor dressage area made of Fontainebleau sand.

Behind the château, several outbuildings have also been restored:
    - The caretaker's house
    - The service building provides accommodation for service staff. It includes several flats as well as a dormitory and refectory. A number of workshops, including a blacksmith's, baker's and joiner's shop, are also an integral part of the building.
    - The gardener's house
    - The barn (the only unrestored building)

A perimeter wall surrounds the 80-hectare estate. Numerous gravelled and cobbled paths lead to the various parks, leading to the sublime formal gardens covering 20 hectares, between forests, mountains and vineyards. Water features prominently throughout the property, with an English river, stone canals, waterfalls and a pond.

This château is a marvel for lovers of history and old stones. Contact me for a visit.
